Advanced Technology
ASCs specialize in surgery, therefore surgery centers can concentrate expenditures on the most advanced equipment available. Advanced technology reduce complications by offering less invasive techniques. Also, these techniques reduce the need for certain anesthesia, thereby allowing patients to return home the same day. This significantly reduces the cost for the patient by eliminating long hospital stays. A recent study demonstrates that ambulatory surgery centers will save Medicare beneficiaries $1.1 billion.
ASC (Ambulatory Surgery Center)
Some patients who visit an ambulatory surgery center are elderly and may have difficulty maneuvering the vast campus of a large medical center. An ambulatory surgery center is an alternative -scheduling all surgical services in one day and in a single location.
A physician-directed and dedicated outpatient practice allows for prompt scheduling which ultimately improves the quality of life for patients. Fewer surgeries are postponed because an ASC is dedicated to the surgery practice.

We understand the challenges that managed care beneficiaries have with surgeries. When scheduling, we can assure patients as well as their physicians that the procedure is covered. Prior to surgery, our office staff prepares a precertification to verify coverage.
Efficient Procedures
Turnaround time between surgeries is as much as three times faster than at hospitals. At Belmont/Harlem Surgery Center the turnaround time is less than ten minutes. Shorter turnaround time means less waiting for patients and physicians.
Family
Children and families are treated as well as patients. We understand that families are part of a patients healing process. Staff are attentive to the needs of families while patients are at the center. Parents stay with their family up to the time of surgery and reunite with them in our comfortable recovery room.
